In addition to supporting quad-band GSM/EDGE, the TRIUMF TQM7M9050 supports five of the world's most popular 3G / 4G bands in the reference design of leading chipset suppliers. This high-efficiency 3G/4G power amplifier is superior to its closest competitor, enabling nearly 46%* PAE. In the same series, the TQP9058 is almost identical to the TQM7M9050. The difference is that it uses a different method to control the output power for 2G, which is compatible with the reference designs of several other major chip manufacturers. “We have expanded our product portfolio to match multiple chipset vendors. As a result, we have expanded our ability to serve key customers,†said Xiong Ting.

The two MMPAs feature a WCDMA power amplifier with low and high power mode gain states to maximize talk time over a wide range of operating conditions. Each pair is perfectly matched to a coupler and band-distribution switch and is ideal for today's small data-enabled handsets. This 5x7 mm, highly integrated module provides an ultra-small form factor that reduces overall product area while reducing external component count, assembly time, time-to-market, and industry-leading performance.
TriQuint's new modules are built on the company's existing MMPA products, and the existing products are already used in some of the world's most sought-after smartphones. The TQM7M9023 is already in the reference design of leading chipset suppliers. Another MMPA TQM7M9053 offers greater efficiency at a lower cost. The company's MMPA shipments have nearly tripled in the past year.
