Sanyo Electric is set to launch the Ni-MH 2100 series, a new line of nickel-hydrogen batteries with a rated capacity of 2000mAh (nominal capacity of 2100mAh), along with the compatible charger model "NC-M55/N-M55S" starting from September 21st. This innovative product is the result of combining Sanyo's own technology with the Ni-MH battery division acquired from Toshiba Battery in April 2001. As a result, the battery offers approximately a 25% increase in capacity compared to previous Sanyo models. The enhanced performance comes from advanced cathode and anode materials, utilizing high-density filling technology. According to the company, this 2000mAh rating represents the highest capacity available in the industry.
The Ni-MH 2100 series is ideal for power-hungry devices such as digital cameras, portable MD players, and handheld computers that require long-lasting energy. Alongside the battery release, Sanyo will also introduce the NC-M55 and N-M55S chargers. These models are designed to charge up to four Ni-MH 2100 batteries in about 230 minutes, or two batteries in roughly 105 minutes. The chargers feature a newly developed microcontroller unit (MCU) to prevent charging errors and overcharging, ensuring safety and reliability. They support a wide voltage range of 100V to 240V, making them suitable for global use.
In addition to the 2100 series, Sanyo will also release the Ni-MH 750 series, which delivers an 8% improvement in capacity over earlier Sanyo products. The 750 series has a rated capacity of 700mAh (nominal capacity of 750mAh).
Pricing details include a 4-pack of the Ni-MH 2100 series at 2,200 yen (approximately RMB 138), while the 4-pack of the Ni-MH 750 series is priced at 1,800 yen (about RMB 112). A 2-pack of the 750 series costs 900 yen (around RMB 56). The NC-M55 charger is priced at 4,600 yen (about RMB 288), and the N-M55S model, which can charge four batteries, is available for 6,800 yen (approximately RMB 425). The charger kits, including both the battery and charger, are also offered at competitive prices, providing users with convenient and reliable power solutions for their portable electronics.
