Sanyo Electric is set to launch the Ni-MH 2100 series, a new line of nickel-hydrogen batteries with a rated capacity of 2000mAh (nominal capacity of 2100mAh), along with the compatible charger model "NC-M55/N-M55S" starting September 21st. This innovative product combines the Ni-MH battery expertise from Toshiba Battery, which Sanyo acquired in April 2001, with its own advanced technologies, resulting in a 25% increase in capacity compared to previous Sanyo offerings. The battery features high-capacity cathode and anode materials, enhanced by high-density filling technology, making it the industry's highest capacity battery at 2000mAh. It’s ideal for power-hungry devices like digital cameras, portable MD players, and handheld computers.
Alongside the Ni-MH 2100 series, Sanyo will also release a dedicated charger. With this charger, it takes approximately 230 minutes to charge four Ni-MH 2100 batteries and about 105 minutes for two. The charger includes a newly developed microcontroller unit (MCU) to prevent charging errors and overcharging, ensuring safety and efficiency. It supports a wide range of voltages, from 100V to 240V, making it suitable for global use.
In addition to the 2100 series, Sanyo will also introduce the Ni-MH 750 series, which offers an 8% increase in capacity compared to earlier Sanyo products. These batteries have a rated capacity of 700mAh (nominal capacity of 750mAh).
Pricing details are as follows: A four-pack of the Ni-MH 2100 series will be available for 2,200 yen (approximately RMB 138), while the combined package of both the 2100 and 750 series will cost 1,100 yen (about RMB 69). The NC-M55 charger is priced at 4,600 yen (around RMB 288), and the N-M55S model, which can charge four batteries at once, is available for 6,800 yen (roughly RMB 425). A four-pack of the Ni-MH 750 series will be sold for 1,800 yen (about RMB 112), and a two-battery pack will cost 900 yen (approximately RMB 56).
