A: You cannot enter the "Transfer" mode while the screen is running. You must restart the device and click on "Transfer" from the startup screen to access this mode.

To enable the Transfer mode, you just need to configure a button on the screen. In the button's click event, select the "SetDeviceMode" function under "Settings." There are three available operating modes:

  • 0 (hmiOnline) = Online: Establishes a connection with the PLC.
  • 1 (hmiOffline) = Offline: Disconnects from the PLC.
  • 2 (hmiTransfer) = Transfer/Download: Allows transferring the project from the configuration computer to the HMI device.

Choose "Transfer/Download" and then click the button at any time while the screen is active to switch to the "Transfer" mode and download the project.

Alternatively, when the panel starts up, open the control panel, go to the "Transfer" option, and activate the "EnableChannel" for the corresponding port. If the second option "RemoteControl" is enabled, the WinCC flexible download command will automatically switch the panel to transfer mode. If not, you’ll need to manually select the transfer mode at startup or use the mode switch feature within the project.

It’s important to ensure that all communication settings are correctly configured before attempting to transfer or download the project. This includes checking the network connections, COM port settings, and ensuring the correct driver is installed on the configuration PC. Additionally, always back up your current project before making any changes to avoid data loss.
