HARTING's edge computing system, MICA (Modular Industrial Computing Architecture), is designed to monitor and process data generated from industrial environments. To enhance its functionality, HARTING has partnered with Arrow to introduce a new wireless sensor network solution for MICA. This innovative addition brings wireless communication capabilities to machine monitoring systems, making it easier to collect and analyze real-time data. The solution was recently showcased at the SPS IPC Drives exhibition in Nuremberg, Germany, at HARTING's booth.

Arrow has developed a range of modules that support wireless communication with sensors using various protocols such as SmartMESH IP (DUST), Bluetooth Low Energy, and XBee. These modules allow HARTING MICA to capture and process data seamlessly, whether connected directly or through sensor nodes. This flexibility ensures that existing machine control systems can be upgraded without major overhauls.
