The Suining substation with an investment of more than 500 million yuan is the first 500-kilovolt transformer substation in Suining. Suining Station installs 2 sets of 750,000 kVA main transformers and 2 500 kV outlets. After the station is put into operation, it will form a dual-ring power grid with Suining Shehong Wanlin 220kv Substation, Shek Keng Shimen 220kV Substation, and Shiqiao Xinshi 220kV Substation, further enhancing local power supply capacity, improving power supply reliability, and maximizing changes in Suining. The weak status of regional power grids provides a safe, reliable, high-quality, and highly efficient energy supply for Suining’s local economic development.

Before the end of 2006, Suining Power Grid was composed of four mutually independent district-county power grids. Each county-level power grid had only one 110-kilovolt transmission line connected to the main grid. Because of the transmission capacity of the line, the power load of each district and county was greatly limited. During the 11th Five-Year Plan period, Suining Power Grid built three 220kV transformer substations in Shuangqian, Wanlin, and Shimen, and opened a major artery connected to the main network. This formed a joint of the Suining grid and the Ziyang Power Grid through the 220 kV dual-substation substation. In the east, the Shuangyu Substation is connected to the South Charging Network, and Suining’s power grid structure is significantly improved. The safety and stability level and power supply capacity have been greatly improved. However, the 220 kV network structure of Suining Grid is single, and the 220 kV lines connected to Nanchong and Ziyang Power Grids are all connected to the Shuangyu Substation, and they are supplied to the Wanlin Substation through the Shuangyu Substation, and then to the Shimen Substation through the Wanlin Substation. The 220KV Shuangban-Wanlin-Shimen string constellation pattern, when the local 220 kV transmission equipment fails, it may cause a large-scale blackout of the power grid.

The 500-kV Suining Substation is another milestone in the history of the development of Suining Grid after the 220-kilovolt substation. Its completion and operation brought about the transformation of Suining Power Grid's power supply from “receiving power from neighboring regions through 220 kV lines” to “upholding 500 kV substations”, and finally formed a 220 kV double loop network grid in Suining Power Grid, eliminating The original single-supply power supply defect has shortened the power supply radius. It plays a very important role in improving the structure of Suining power grid, meeting the increasing load demand in Suining, increasing the power supply capacity and reliability of power supply in the regional power grid, and building a strong power grid.
