China's 2010 low-voltage electrical industry may suffer import and export deficit

The relevant person in charge of the Chamber of Commerce stated that from the perspective of market conditions, China's middle- and low-end low-voltage electrical appliances basically occupy most of the domestic market, but the demand for high-end low-voltage electrical appliances mainly depends on imports.

In recent years, the import and export of low-voltage electrical appliances in China has been in a deficit state. According to customs statistics, last year China's export volume of low-voltage electrical appliances was US$ 6.339 billion, an increase of 25.90% over the same period of the previous year. Imports were US$ 8.751 billion, a year-on-year increase of 20.22% .

At present, there are more than 2,000 low-voltage electrical related export enterprises in China, which are mainly concentrated in coastal provinces such as Guangdong, Zhejiang, and Shanghai.

The person in charge of the Chamber of Commerce stated: “ At present, there are less than 10 large-scale low-voltage electrical appliance manufacturers in China with annual sales revenue and total assets of over RMB 500 million. The vast majority are small and medium-sized enterprises, resulting in a lack of economies of scale and competitiveness. It also causes the economic resources to be scattered and inefficient. "

In terms of exports, low-voltage electrical appliances are also heavily influenced by technical barriers in Europe and the United States. The industry lacks regulations and some confusion. The establishment of this low-voltage electrical branch helps regulate the import and export of the industry.

It is reported that the main work of the low-voltage electrical branch includes collecting market information and information on low-voltage electrical appliances, studying and formulating marketing strategies and strategies for the import and export of low-voltage electrical appliances, formulating technical guidelines for import and export of related products in the low-voltage electrical appliance industry, and regularly publishing information on the activities of the Committee; According to the requirements of the import and export of low-voltage electrical appliances and market conditions, the import and export prices are regularly forecasted.
