Analysis of UV LED, visible LED, infrared LED in various bands

UV LED (Ultraviolet Light Emitting Diode) (1) Low UV: The wavelength range typically spans from 250nm to 410nm, with common values including 250nm–265nm, 285nm, and 365nm. These are all based on InGaN/GaN materials. UV LEDs at 285nm are especially effective in killing bacteria in water, achieving a sterilization efficiency of up to 98%. Analysis of UV LED, visible LED, infrared LED in various bands (2) Medium UV: Typically in the range of 365nm–370nm, this band is widely used internationally for sterilization purposes. It's commonly used in medical settings, such as during surgeries, to ensure no bacterial contamination. Additionally, 365nm–390nm UV light is used in dentistry for quick and efficient treatment. This wavelength is also used globally for verifying the authenticity of banknotes. (3) High UV: Ranging from 405nm–410nm, these LEDs are often referred to as "UV wafers," with a maximum wafer size of less than 2 inches. From 345nm–410nm, this spectrum is utilized for seed germination and plant growth. Moreover, 405nm–410nm is also applied in counterfeit detection for RMB notes. VIS LED (Visible Light Emitting Diode) (1) Blue Light: Wavelengths between 430nm–450nm–470nm are commonly used for blue light applications. These LEDs are primarily made of InGaN/GaN but have lower performance, shorter lifespan, and limited brightness, making them suitable mainly for blue light illumination. (2) Green Light: This band covers 505nm–520nm–540nm and is mostly used for green light emission. The main material is InGaN/GaN, while 556nm is typically composed of GaP/AlInGaP, offering the purest green light that is most easily perceived by the human eye. (3) Yellow Light: Used in the 570nm–590nm range for amber (yellow), and in the 600nm–620nm range for orange. (4) Red Light: Found in the 630nm–640nm range for red light, and in the 660nm–730nm range for dark red. IR LED (Infrared Light Emitting Diode) Infrared LEDs are widely used in various applications. For example, light in the 660nm–730nm–780nm range promotes plant growth. Medical products using 730nm–760nm can help assess whether a patient is in a vegetative state. 760nm–790nm–805nm is used to detect fat content in the body, while 850nm–880nm helps monitor engine speed. 900nm is used in medical devices for blood gas and glucose testing, and 940nm is used in remote control systems for position locking. 1000nm–1300nm–1500nm–1550nm is used for detecting volatile gases like alcohol, fiber, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide. Special Applications for Other Wavelengths: (1) Wavelengths from 250nm–300nm (0.1 MW), 350nm–360nm (1 MW), and 380nm–400nm (5 MW, 20 MA) are used for photo-catalytic reactions between 320nm–400nm. These can effectively remove harmful substances like formaldehyde, benzene, xylene, viruses, bacteria, and odors in office environments. They also help boost metabolism and immunity, promoting overall health and energy. (2) 570nm–580nm wavelengths cause mosquitoes' retinas to blur, encouraging them to escape naturally. (3) 320nm–380nm UV light stimulates skin metabolism, strengthens skin tissue, and is used in treating conditions like psoriasis and vitiligo. It also enhances lighting effects and is used in industrial radiation detection and banknote verification. (4) 275nm–320nm UV light has strong physiological effects, triggering photochemical reactions and producing active substances that benefit internal organs, mental health, and the endocrine system. It can cause erythema on the skin and convert cholesterol into vitamin D3, which is crucial for calcium and phosphorus regulation in the body—especially for indoor workers, pregnant women, and children. (5) Insects are highly sensitive to UV light around 360nm, making it an effective tool for insect control. (6) 315nm UV-B has significant physiological effects on animals, supporting organ function, nerve activity, and hormone regulation, while also aiding in protein and vitamin D3 synthesis.
