AMD Ryzen3 is still on sale with less than 10 days left, and many smaller vendors are struggling to keep up. Although last week I pushed the "Swear to Install Super i3 Ryzen3!" post, many smaller vendors are still undecided between Intel Core i3 and AMD Ryzen3. Today, I'll do the math and help you decide which one is better suited for your needs!
Let's start by calculating the cost of peripherals. DDR4 memory: 4GB costs 259 yuan, while 8GB costs 489 yuan – this applies regardless of whether you're using Ryzen3, i3, or even Pentium. For storage, a mechanical hard drive with 3TB costs 549 yuan, while an SSD with 120GB costs 439 yuan, and a 240GB SSD costs 639 yuan. The cost of a case, power supply, keyboard, and mouse is around 350 yuan and 100 yuan respectively. So, the hard costs might look something like this:
1. 8GB+120GB SSD+case+power supply+keyboard+mouse = 1378 yuan
2. 4GB x 2 + 120GB SSD+case+power supply+keyboard+mouse = 1407 yuan
3. 8GB+3TB hard drive+case+power supply+keyboard+mouse = 1488 yuan
4. 8GB+240GB SSD+case+power supply+keyboard+mouse = 1578 yuan
5. 8GB+120GB SSD+3TB mechanical hard drive+case+power supply+keyboard+mouse = 1628 yuan
6. 8GB+240GB SSD+3TB mechanical hard drive+case+power supply+keyboard+mouse = 2027 yuan
Now let’s take a look at the motherboards:
For Intel processors:
- H110 chipset: Starting at around 299 yuan, it’s the cheapest option with great cost efficiency.
- H270 chipset: Costs approximately 599 yuan, offering more powerful features but slightly higher prices.
- Z270 chipset: About 899 yuan, providing strong performance and all the bells and whistles.
For AMD processors:
- A320 chipset: Starts at around 399 yuan, rich in features but comes with a price premium.
- B350 chipset: Starts at around 499 yuan, offering excellent performance and great cost efficiency.
Moving on to the GPU section, Intel processors come with integrated graphics, whether it's the i3 or Pentium, so if you're on a tight budget or don't play games, you can save on the GPU cost entirely. However, AMD Ryzen3 lacks integrated graphics, meaning you’ll need to add a dedicated GPU. For a lightweight setup, you might spend an extra 150 to 200 yuan. If going solo, there’s no real difference between the two. You can opt for a GTX1030 for 599 yuan; an RX560 for 799 yuan; a 1060 3GB for around 2000 yuan; or a 1060 6GB which could go beyond 2500 yuan.
So, which combination offers better value for money?
For Intel, consider the Pentium G4560 paired with an H110 motherboard and either 4GB x 2 or 8GB of memory. Note that DDR4 can only operate at 2133 MHz due to the limitations of the H110 motherboard, making higher-speed DDR4 2400 specifications redundant. I highly recommend at least 8GB of memory. If you opt for our “Plan 1 or 2,†the total cost will stay under 2000 yuan, offering great cost efficiency.
For AMD, the Ryzen3 1200 paired with an A320 motherboard and 4GB x 2 or 8GB of memory is recommended. Opt for “Plan 4†for superior cost efficiency, even allowing for gaming at a price under 4000 yuan (or around 3000 yuan with a light GPU). Unfortunately, choosing the A320 motherboard means missing out on the Ryzen3’s overclocking capabilities.
Alternatively, consider the Ryzen3 1300X paired with a B350M motherboard and 4GB x 2 or 8GB of memory. I suggest going with “Plan 5 or 6†for the best performance, multi-core capabilities, and overclocking potential. This is a solid mid-range option. With an RX560, you can run 1080p games smoothly, and other applications will run even better. My tip is to pair the Ryzen3 1300X with a significant GPU rather than a lightweight one to fully leverage the configuration.
Lastly, the i3 7100 is impressive, offering performance close to the G4560 but lacking the core performance of Ryzen3. The i3 7350K requires costly overclocking, making the Z270 motherboard the best choice, but this raises the motherboard cost to over 1000 yuan, increasing overall expenses. Choosing the Z170 motherboard, while still allowing overclocking, doesn’t offer sufficient memory performance (not supporting DDR4 2400) and has lost its appeal since Ryzen3 entered the market.
In conclusion, both options have their merits, and the best choice depends on your specific needs and budget.
Budget Business Laptop
This is the most competitive 15.6 inch Budget Business Laptop, comes with 2022 intel latest celeron cpu-N5095, J4125, etc . Of course, other Budget Working Laptop are also available.
For example, 15.6 inch i5 4th Budget Workstation Laptop for your mid-level task, 14 inch i5 10th Budget Laptop For 3d Modeling, 15.6 inch i7 5th Budget Laptop For Photoshop, or 15.6 inch i7 10th budget laptop for work, etc. Of course, there are other type device, like Android Tablet, 2 In 1 Laptop , Mini PC , All In One PC.
A thin, portable, light-performance laptop may be the ideal tool when people choose a business laptop, therefore just ask yourself 1.what jobs you mainly need this device to do, then choose the cpu and storage necessary, 2.if need fingerprint or backlight; 3. prefer type C charging? Or traditional DC is ok? 4. Does RJ45 webcam is important for you? 5. how many hours you need the laptop to work when do your main jobs?
6.Camera position, prefer on the middle of screen up? or is ok on the bottom of screen?
