In early April, Lexus unveiled its latest model, the NX, featuring a newly designed three-point LED matrix headlight and equipped with an advanced high beam adaptive control system. When it comes to performance, the new NX offers multiple powertrain options, including a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, and a 2.5-liter hybrid system. According to industry reports, the new NX will officially debut at the 2017 Chengdu Auto Show, which kicks off on August 25th. Once launched, this new model is expected to significantly boost Lexus's market presence.
The overall design of the Lexus NX showcases a dynamic silhouette, integrating several cutting-edge active safety technologies. Its exterior features a signature spindle grille with a glossy black finish that enhances its sporty appeal. The front headlights incorporate three-lens optics and come equipped with adaptive high beams for improved visibility. At the rear, the car sports a dual exhaust system with chrome finishes seamlessly integrated into the bumper and spoiler.
Inside, the new NX boasts an upgraded multimedia interface with a larger touchscreen display located centrally on the dashboard. Additionally, there’s an air conditioning control panel added to the rear center console, offering passengers more convenience. Safety-wise, the vehicle integrates Lexus's LSS+ (Lexus Safety System+) suite, which includes pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assistance.
As for performance, the NX lineup provides three distinct engine choices. The 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine delivers up to 110 kW of power and 189 Nm of torque. The turbocharged variant boosts these figures to 175 kW and 350 Nm respectively. Meanwhile, the hybrid option pairs a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with an electric motor, producing a combined output of 114 kW and 210 Nm of torque.
