STMicroelectronics' STiC2BB helps service providers use a flexible client-server network architecture by enabling the latest Home over Coax Alliance (MoCA) version 2.0 home entertainment networking standard. Multi-room ultra high definition video streaming applications.

In Baseline performance mode, the MoCA 2.0 standard single-channel data throughput is 400Mbps, and in Turbo mode, data throughput can be increased to more than 500Mbps. STMicroelectronics' STiC2BB chip supports all the features of both modes and adds channel bonding support. In Enhanced mode, the data throughput is 800Mbps and up to 1Gbps in Turbo mode. The MoCA 2.0 standard has a Packet Loss Rate of less than 1x10-8 and a low latency average latency of 2.4msec, while improving video delivery and gaming experience.

In addition, STiC2BB's enhanced power management features add an energy-saving standby mode and provide MoCA fast wake-up. According to the MoCA 2.0 standard, the MoCA 2.0 solution has at least one sleep mode and a network-level standby mode that reduces the power consumption of all nodes.

ST's MoCA 2.0 solution supports 16-node network capacity and is compatible with both MoCA 1.0 and MoCA 1.1 device operating modes.

The STiC2BB chip is connected to a host device such as a local area network (LAN) or a ST Alicante/STiD128 DOCSIS® 3.0 gateway or a Monaco/STiH412 UHD set-top box system chip via RGMII (Reduced Gigabit Media-Independent Interface).

STiC2BB has channel bonding and supports MoCA 2.0 standard 500MHz to 1650MHz spread spectrum, allowing a large number of MoCA service channels to exist simultaneously.
