Automatic driving speed is expected to relax non-standard cars can also be on the road

A committee of the U.S. House of Representatives approved a comprehensive proposal on Wednesday that allows car manufacturers to deploy up to 100,000 self-driving cars for testing without meeting existing car safety standards

A committee of the US House of Representatives approved a comprehensive proposal on Wednesday that allows automakers to deploy up to 100,000 autopilot cars for testing without meeting current automotive safety standards and prohibiting states from using these tests. Self-driving cars perform related driverless car laws and regulations.

Republican lawmaker Robert Latta leads the subcommittee of the Energy and Commerce Commission who is responsible for protecting consumer rights. He said that the committee of the whole will vote on the proposal next week, and he will continue to consider necessary amendments to the proposal before then.

If the proposal is passed in the committee vote next week, the next step will be submitted to the House of Representatives for approval, but that will be after September, because the House of Representatives will be adjourned in the summer and reconvened in September.

This will be the first major federal regulation that the United States has set to accelerate the introduction of self-driving cars to the market. If the proposal is approved and formally legislated, automakers will not need to submit an application to the government regulatory agency in advance when testing advanced automotive technology. It is only necessary to submit a safety assessment report.

The draft published on Monday said that automakers must prove that autonomous vehicles are “functional and contain fail-safe features,” but the transportation department must not impose additional conditions on the deployment or testing of highly automated vehicles when reviewing safety assessment reports.

This issue has now become very urgent because the number of road traffic deaths in the United States in 2015 reached 35,200, an increase of 7.7% over the previous year. This is also the highest annual growth rate of road traffic deaths since 1966. According to data released by the U.S. government, the number of traffic deaths climbed by nearly 8% in the first nine months of 2016.

The current federal automobile safety laws and regulations prohibit car manufacturers from selling self-driving cars that do not require manual control. Automobile manufacturers must meet nearly 75 automotive safety standards. Many of these standards are prepared on the premise that automobiles must be controlled by a driver with a legitimate driver's license.

General Motors, Alphabet, Ford Motor Company, Tesla, and others have been lobbying Congress, hoping that the federal government will preemptively introduce relevant laws and regulations because California and certain states may impose some restrictions on the deployment and testing of self-driving cars. .

According to the proposal, states can still establish relevant regulations for the registration, license, responsibility, insurance, and safety inspection of self-driving cars, but they cannot set performance standards for self-driving cars.

Car dealers hope that the final bill will clarify that this measure will not conflict with laws and regulations that affect franchise dealerships in each state, which usually prohibits automakers from selling cars directly to consumers.

The Consumer Union said on Wednesday that the proposal needs further revision and must “ensure that automakers can prove the safety of self-driving cars and that consumers will not be exposed to greater risks in accidents.” The organization opposes There is no strong federal safety standard that limits the power of state security agencies."

Last year, the former U.S. President Obama’s government announced voluntary guidelines for self-driving cars, requiring automakers to submit a safety assessment report that includes 15 issues. President Xiaolan Zhao, the transport minister of President Trump, said she plans to update this information in the coming months.

Electronic Components Transformer

Transformer is a device that USES the principle of electromagnetic induction to change the ac voltage. Its main components are primary coil, secondary coil and iron core. The main functions are: voltage transformation, current transformation, impedance transformation, isolation, voltage stabilization (magnetic saturation transformer), etc.According to use can be divided into: power transformer and special transformer (electric furnace change, rectifier, power frequency transformer, voltage regulator, mining, audio transformers, intermediate frequency transformer, high frequency transformer, impact transformer, instrument transformer, electronic transformer, reactor, transformer, etc.).The circuit symbol T is often used as the beginning of the number. Examples: T01, T201, etc.
